MARIE H. SNOPEK, age 99, Cynthiana, died peacefully surrounded by family at her home on Saturday, February 18, 2012. Born November 14, 1912 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Snopek and her parents, Thomas and Anna Gingleski. She is survived by her son, Donald (Barbara) Snopek, grandchildren, Chris (Carla) Snopek and Stacey (Clif) Marshall and five great grandchildren, Kate Russell Snopek, Christopher Snopek, Lydia Snopek, John Whit Snopek and Mary Grace Marshall. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, she was educated at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary and Scranton Technical High School. Prior to retirement, she worked at Wilson Company. She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Cynthiana and Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Sranton, Pennsylvania. She was also a member of Holy Rosary and Blessed Sacrament Society and the Buena Vista Homemakers. Marie was preceded in death by a brother, Francis Gingleski of Scranton and a sister, Regina Ferentino of Old Forge, Pennsylvania. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at St. Edward Catholic Church by Father Douglas Lauer with visitation at 9:30 A.M. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Scranton, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Edward Catholic Church Building Fund, 107 North Walnut Street, Cynthiana, Kentucky 41031.
